In February 2009, Carnival Cruise Lines introduced its latest perk, which gives passengers the opportunity to make their spa appointments online ahead of time.

Now, as you arrange your cruise's itinerary, you can schedule a facial before your big night in town or arrange for an afternoon massage after a morning running around the jogging track. Cruise lines are working harder than ever to eliminate possible snags to your plans.

Cruises Ships Offer Perks

Cruise Lines have become more affordable and more attractive despite the economic downswing. By combining all vacation amenities into one package, cruises allow travelers to stick to their budget. To ensure that passengers make cruises their first choice, many cruise lines are offering discounts including free airfare to points of departure and other special deals. In addition, several lines have added additional points of departure, making it easier to take to the waters. For instance, in April, Carnival Cruise Lines will start a launch from Baltimore. And while offers abound, the best deals can often be found mere weeks from departure as cruise lines aim to fill every berth.

Carnival’s new online spa booking is another way for it to keep ahead of the competition. With the spas on cruise ships customarily quickly booked to capacity, knowing you can schedule a facial for the afternoon before your big night out on the town is the perfect added touch.

The Carnival Cruise Line Spas

Carnival Cruise is known for its 18-day luxury cruises to the Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Caribbean, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Canada, New England, Europe, Bermuda and South America.

The online spa booking service is available for both male and female passengers with paid cruise reservations. Spa appointments can be made from the time the cruise is booked and paid for up until 7 days prior to departure. After paying for their spa appointments, passengers receive a printable confirmation with the details of their appointment.

Carnival Cruise Spas offer more than 30 different treatments, including their custom oasis escape massage with aromatherapy, reflexology, deep tissue massages, hot stone massages, Elemis facials, body wraps, slimming treatments, loofah treatments, special spa holiday packages, teeth whitening, water treatments (hydrotherapy), and manicures. Carnival’s spas also include steam rooms and thermal suites with a complete line of thermal treatments. In addition, all Carnival Cruise ships have full service salons, gyms with state of the art exercise equipment and a variety of exercise, nutrition, wellness, and fitness classes.

The Cloud 9 Spa, reported to be one of the largest spas afloat is a key attraction of the newest ship, the Carnival Splendor. The Cloud 9 Spa is a 40,000 sq foot, two-deck spa with exclusive spa staterooms. The Cloud 9 serves as a model for all of Carnival’s new ships.

In the fall of 2009, Carnival will be launching the highly anticipated 3,646-passenger Carnival Dream. The Carnival Dream is outdoing itself on the spa front. It will have Carnival’s largest spa along with a water slide and a wide range of special accommodations for children.
